Mazatech introduces a new vector graphic engine with pure software rendering (AmanithVG SRE) to complete its OpenGL ES 1.x+ CM engine (now AmanithVG GLE).
AmanithVG GLE is an high performance software library for 2D vector graphics, layered on top of OpenGL fixed pipeline and OpenGL ES 1.0+ CM, based on OpenVG 1.0.1 and OpenVG 1.1 specifications. This new milestone implements the whole OpenVG 1.1 features set just using the fixed pipeline, two texture units and a single auxiliary buffer (depth or stencil) only. AmanithVG GLE exploits all available GL extensions to accelerate the rendering and, where it's not possible, it uses few smart software fallbacks to implement a really small subset of the OpenVG pipeline.
AmanithVG SRE is a pure software solution that grants a superlative vector graphics quality without to sacrifice performance, based on OpenVG 1.0.1 and OpenVG 1.1 specifications. Thanks to its original polygon rasterization algorithm and dedicated optimized scanline fillers, this engine constitues the fastest OpenVG software rendering solution available on the market.
Evaluation builds of both engines are available for download on the
AmanithVG website.
AmanithVG internal testsuite results, as well as tests sources, are browsable at
GLE tests page and
SRE tests page.
AmanithVG SRE and GLE are available for the following target platforms:
Windows 2000 / XP / Vista, on x86, x86_64;
Windows CE / Mobile, on ARM v5, v6 (with or without VFP);
MacOS X 10.4 / 10.5, on PowerPC, Intel (Universal Binary);
Linux 2.6.x, on x86, x86_64, PowerPC, ARM v5, v6 (with or without VFP), SH4;
QNX 6.4.x on x86, PowerPC, ARM v6, SH4.
